November 2024 - Project update

Since opening Northeast River Valley Park in September 2023, the City of Edmonton has learned more about the park’s landscape, ecology and existing infrastructure. 

This learning has informed the development of guiding principles of the draft Strategic Plan that will give direction to future decision making for the park. 

We now need your feedback on the draft strategic direction, guiding principles and what activities you’d like to do at the park. 

We want to hear from you!

To learn more and share your feedback: 

• Complete the online survey 
  • Available from Thursday, November 21 to Monday, December 9
• Enjoy family-friendly activities and meet the project team at a drop-in event 
  • Saturday, November 23 from noon to 4pm 
  • Northeast River Valley Park Event Centre (903 153 Ave NE)
  • The project team will host outdoor events including a bonfire, scavenger hunt and a colouring station. Events may change, depending on the weather. 

Your feedback will be used to help create the draft Strategic Plan for Northeast River Valley Park. 

Project Overview

In September 2023, the City of Edmonton opened the Northeast River Valley Park after purchasing the land from a private seller. The City opened Northeast River Valley Park with the existing onsite amenities and is now looking to set the Strategic Plan for the park. A series of public engagement events will be held to allow Edmontonians to share how they use the park now and how they’d like to be able to use it in the future.

This project is not currently funded for construction.
