The City of Edmonton is developing a community park in Edgemont. Planning and design is complete. Construction is anticipated to begin in summer 2025.
Project update - January 2025
The final design for Edgemont Community Park is now ready. It was created considering City policy, technical requirements and public feedback.
The What We Heard report for the second round of engagement is now available. This report shows how the project team responded to public feedback to arrive at this design.
Construction of the park is anticipated to begin in summer 2025. More information on timelines and any impacts will be made available closer to the project start date. The design of the new playground will be shared in spring 2025.
Project Overview
The City of Edmonton is developing a community park in the Edgemont neighbourhood. The site will be the future home of an Edmonton Public Schools Kindergarten to Grade 9 school. In preparation for this school, and for the use and enjoyment by all residents, the City of Edmonton will undertake base level development of the park.
Park development will include grading, seeding and landscaping, sports fields, adding park furniture and shared-use paths. A new playground will also be built in the park.
Public engagement to provide feedback during planning and design is now complete. At this time, construction is scheduled to begin in summer 2025.

The City of Edmonton is in the planning and design stage of the Edgemont Park project and the project team now has a recommended park design to share.
