Recreation for Seniors

The City of Edmonton offers a wide variety of drop-in and registered recreational programs for adults aged 65+.

Get access to all City of Edmonton fitness centres, swimming pools and gymnasiums for a daily admission fee of just $3.50/person from 11:30am-1pm.

Join us for various programs and activities such as zumba, yoga, public swim, aquafit, public skating and more.

City of Edmonton Community Services wheelchair accessibility ratings for city facilities including attractions, recreation centres, golf courses, stadiums, and parks.

City of Edmonton Recreation Centres membership plans offer great payment options, including direct withdrawal for monthly users, and no contracts!

The Leisure Access Program allows eligible low-income Edmontonians to access participating City of Edmonton recreation facilities and attractions.

Seniors Coordinated Outreach

Seniors Coordinated Outreach assists with resources, services and supports by assessing needs and offering appropriate support and outreach services.

Services include:

  • Housing information and referrals
  • Support in making the transition from one lifestyle to another
  • Seniors Housing Guide: a listing of subsidized and unsubsidized housing in the Edmonton area
  • Support completing applications for financial assistance
  • Referrals to screened service providers who offer snow removal, yard help, housekeeping, home repair and maintenance, personal services and moving help
