Gold Bar has been chosen for Alley Renewal. Planning and design is currently underway.
Fraud Warning
It has come to the attention of the City of Edmonton that an individual is going door to door claiming to be a City of Edmonton contractor for the Gold Bar Alley Renewal project. This project is still in the planning and design phase and does not have a construction contractor. There is no connection between Gold Bar Alley Renewal and any paving company at this time.
The City of Edmonton is not offering to pave driveways ahead of construction and would not solicit door to door. If you have fallen victim to this or any other scam, it is recommended you call the Edmonton Police Service at 780-423-4567 or #377 from your mobile phone.
Starting the Conversation - April 2025
Thank you to everyone who engaged with the Project Team during the Starting the Conversation stage of Gold Bar Alley Renewal. The online survey closed on April 23. The feedback gathered will be used to help the Project Team understand how you use alleys in the neighbourhood and identify opportunities for improvement.
The public engagement activities and participation are summarized in the Engagement Summary.
A report summarizing your feedback and the final decisions for the project will be available in the coming months.
In fall 2025, we will provide an update on the project, including next steps and opportunities to stay informed as we move forward with Alley Renewal.

About the Project
As part of the Neighbourhood Renewal program, Alley Renewal outlines a cost-effective, long-term strategic approach to renew and rebuild alleys. Alley Renewal involves alley reconstruction and repaving, improvements to surface drainage, where possible, and upgrading existing alley lighting to LED fixtures.
During the project, the Project Team will seek community feedback to guide the Alley Renewal process and design.
New alley lighting can be made available through a Local Improvement process, if property owners are interested.
