The City of Edmonton is selling its existing inventory of recycled aggregate products at 2 locations in Edmonton: Southeast Aggregate Recycling Site and West Aggregate Recycling Site.

Call your preferred location to confirm product availability and place your order. Orders are pick-up only.

Note: We do not load trailers or pick-up trucks. The vehicle must be a tandem truck or an end dump truck for pickup. A tarp is required to cover the material. Drivers must wear their own proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): hard hat, steel-toed boots, safety vest, and safety glasses.

Recycled Crushed Concrete

Recycled crushed concrete consists of concrete from sidewalks, pavement, curbing and building slabs that have been crushed and screened to 63mm. The screening process removes any leftover steel pieces, such as rebar.

Composition
The typical composition of our recycled concrete aggregate is:

65% concrete
25% asphalt
10% other materials (soil cement, brick, granular materials and other aggregate recyclable material)

Applications
Use recycled concrete aggregate as:

A residential base when installing a new driveway, walkway or patio
A commercial or municipal base for parking lots, roads or pipe laying
Riprap revetments to control streambank erosion
Filler for stacked cages to create privacy and retaining walls

Ballast (Dolostone)

Ballast (dolostone) is a rock composed of the mineral dolomite.

Size Specifications: 6mm-38mm (¼ inch-1 ½ inches)
Fee per Tonne: $80
Availability: Limited quantity available at West location

Applications

Provides stability, drainage and distributes loads as a support base under railroad ties. When sloped downward, it allows water to drain away from the rails
Used for landscaping around trees, planting beds, sidewalks and patios.
