Menisa Scope Map

The Menisa Neighbourhood has been chosen for Alley Renewal. Planning and design is currently underway.

Starting the Conversation - April 2025

Planning for Alley Renewal in Menisa is underway, including engagement with community members.

We are seeking your input about the alleys in your neighbourhood, including how they are used and opportunities for improvement.

We want to hear from you!

To share your feedback:

  • Complete the online survey
    • Available from Tuesday, April 15 to Sunday, May 4

If you prefer to engage in a different manner, the Project Team is available to schedule one-on-one phone calls with interested participants to share information, answer questions and gather input. A paper copy of the survey can also be provided. Email rolisha.walters@edmonton.ca OR call 311 and ask to be connected with a Project Team member by phone.

Working together to make the most of your neighbourhood

This is your city and your neighbourhood. We want to understand how you experience the alleys in your neighbourhood and ask for your input on what we might do to make them better. We will engage and work with you on this renewal project. We commit to being open and transparent about how your input is used.

Let’s make the most out of your alleys.

About the Project

As part of the Neighbourhood Renewal program, Alley Renewal outlines a cost-effective, long-term strategic approach to renew and rebuild alleys. Alley Renewal involves alley reconstruction and repaving, improvements to surface drainage, where possible, and upgrading existing alley lighting to LED fixtures. Opportunities to improve active mode connections (for walking, rolling and biking) and traffic safety are also explored.

During the project, the Project Team will seek community feedback to guide the Alley Renewal process and design.

New alley lighting can be made available through a Local Improvement process, if property owners are interested.
