Road renewal in most areas is now complete. Road reconstruction continues on 30 Street, 142 Avenue and 32 Street. The contractor is carrying out road removal, placing gravel and then will pave after all areas have had gravel. There are also 3 raised crossings to be poured along this stretch.
September 2025
139 Avenue has reopened. Road reconstruction has started from 30 Street north of St. Bonaventure School to 144 Avenue and from 36 Street north of the roundabout to 144 Avenue.
Concrete work continues on the east side of 36 Street and road reconstruction continues on the northeast loop. Street light work and landscaping is ongoing.
August 2025
Draining work is almost complete. Excavation is starting in the school zone, the northwest loop for road reconstruction, the northeast outer loop, Victoria Trail, 36 Street and cul-de-sacs.
Concrete work will continue on 30 Street, 139 Avenue, 36 Street and northeast loop. Road reconstruction in the northwest loop is ongoing.
Construction in Hairsine Park and other landscaping work is ongoing.
July 2025
In July, excavation will happen in the school zone and 36 Street. Gravel work will happen in the NW inner loop, east of 36 Street and south of 144 Avenue. Concrete work will happen on 36 Street, 36 Street and the northeast loop. Drainage work will also happen in the school zone.
At this time, construction is being done on the northwest outer loop and on the north side of the long cul-de-sac of 142 Avenue. Next, crews will move to the west side of 36 Street and the northeast inner loop.
Construction has begun in Hairsine Park for new trails, seating areas and landscaping. That work will continue until the fall. Planting and sod is ongoing south of 139 Avenue and along 36 Street.
June 2025
The second year of Hairsine Neighbourhood Renewal is underway. Work will consist of reconstruction and paving of the roads, removal and replacement of public sidewalk, curb, gutter and street lighting, and park lighting.
At this time, construction is being done on the northwest outer loop and on the north side of the long cul-de-sac of 142 Avenue. Next, crews will move to the west side of 36 Street and the northeast inner loop.

This year, the majority of construction will take place from West of Victoria Trail to 36 Street between 139 Avenue and 144 Avenue. Please view this scope map to see the 2025 construction area. Work will also happen in the Hairsine Park.
Parts of the 2024 construction area may also require sod. Once the weather warms up, typically in early May, the landscape subcontractor will be completing the topsoil and sod placement.
For those who live in the 2025 construction area, the landscaping work is scheduled to start after installation of new concrete sidewalks. Landscaping work is highly dependent on weather and sod availability.

The City of Edmonton and EPCOR are working together to construct Low Impact Development (LID), which will help with stormwater retention and help mitigate flooding.

All residents and business owners are asked to access their homes and businesses through the back entrances and alleys, where possible, during construction.
