Construction Update - November 2024
Alley Renewal construction in the Allendale neighbourhood has wrapped up for the 2024 construction season!
2024 construction began in May and was finished the second week of October. The 2024 construction season was a success and we completed all planned construction.
The work consisted of removing the existing road structure, placing a new gravel base, conducting minor concrete replacement and installing new asphalt pavement. Final inspections have now been completed and any required deficiency repair work will be fully completed in the spring of 2025.
The second year of Alley Renewal in Allendale is scheduled to begin in early May 2025. Alley construction will take place in various sections of the neighbourhood due to the required utility coordination that took place in 2024. To help prepare for the upcoming work in your neighbourhood:

Garbage and Recycle Collection
While your alley is closed for construction, waste cart collection will occur from your front street or avenue. Residents are asked to temporarily relocate carts and recycle bags to the front of their property during alley closures for pick-up on collection days. Carts and bags should be placed in a visible location along the curb or back of the sidewalk, at which point collection workers will manoeuver carts so they can be emptied. We recommend you identify your home address in the space provided on the carts to ensure your assigned carts are returned to your home after collection.
