As part of the 25-year Waste Strategy, the City of Edmonton started winding down its commercial collection services as of October 1, 2019. The City is no longer accepting new Commercial Collection clients. Instead, the City will develop policy and regulations to help increase waste diversion in the commercial sector.

Waste Services is working with existing clients to ensure the move to private waste collection service is efficiently implemented. The City will continue to meet its existing contract obligations. 

City-owned sites will continue receiving collection services from Waste Services.
