The City's contract with their current employee engagement survey vendor concluded on June 30, 2025. The City is exploring options for a new employee engagement tool and more information will be shared when available. Listening to employees and understanding what is working and what needs improvement is important to the City's Executive Leadership Team.
The quick Employee Check-in surveys done previously measured employee experience twice a year, between the more detailed biennial surveys. They provided an opportunity for employees to regularly share their honest thoughts of how things are going and help build a positive employee experience.

In May 2024, 11 questions were asked to all City of Edmonton employees to see how they are doing in regards to the 6 positive employee experience dimensions.

6,866 of 13,320 City of Edmonton employees responded (52%) with 9,306 comments
The response rate was up 3% and comments were up 42% from the last check-in survey in September 2023.
