Description/Purpose
Civida (formerly Capital Region Housing Corporation) continues to be established as a management body under its new legal name, by ministerial order under the Alberta Housing Act.
Through affordable housing grants and advice, Civida provides over 5000 homes to tenants and their families, and leads the way in housing research, policy development and advocacy.
Services include: providing professional housing and asset management; ensuring social housing and rent subsidy programs run smoothly for applicants, tenants, and funders; policy and research that aims to influence provincial and national housing policy and best practices; and creating more affordable housing options across Edmonton through new builds and renovation projects.
