The Vision Zero School Kit includes signage, activities and resources for students and the school community to learn more about traffic safety and raise awareness about safer speeds in their community.

The changes to the Vision Zero School Kit program include:

  • Do-It-Yourself K-6 lesson plan and resources will remain available for teachers and students. Updates to these lesson plans will be made as resources allow.
  • Portable Driver Feedback Sign requests will continue to be accommodated.
  • Partnership activities that leverage current school-focused relationships and programs for school students in Edmonton, such as City Hall School and AMA School Safety Patrol Program, will continue to be accommodated.
  • The School Signs package (lawn sign and centreline signs) will continue to be distributed using the existing inventory and then will be discontinued after the end of the 2024/2025 school year.
  • The Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Sign activity will be discontinued after the end of the 2024/2025 school year.
  • The Vibrant Crosswalks activity has been discontinued as of 2025. The City will continue to improve crosswalk safety through the Safe Crossings program.

The City will continue to coordinate and support building safer streets around schools through programs including Vision Zero Street Labs, Safe Routes to School, and Speed Humps and Speed Tables.
