No. Civic Agencies value diverse perspectives. Each posting outlines required competencies and qualifications, if any.

Is training provided?
  • Most agencies offer onboarding and orientation for new members.
  • Tribunals require formal, mandatory training.

Can I connect with an agency to learn more about serving on an agency?

Yes. You can contact an agency directly using the email address listed on listed on its website. Agencies can share general information about their work, meeting schedules, and expectations.

Note: Individual committee members may not be available for one-on-one conversations.

Why was I not selected for an interview or appointment?
  • All candidates are assessed against the required criteria and competencies in the posting. Due to a strong pool of qualified applicants and limited positions, the selection process is highly competitive.
  • Interview discussions are confidential under the Protection of Privacy Act, so the Office of the City Clerk is unable to provide individual feedback.
Can I receive feedback on my application, or apply again in the future?

While individual feedback is not available, we encourage you to apply again. Selection criteria may change from year to year, and many applicants are successful in future recruitment cycles.
