As part of the City of Edmonton’s commitment to offering the highest quality facilities and amenities, scheduled maintenance is required to inspect and care for our facilities.
The facilities listed below are currently closed, partially closed or soon to be closed for regular maintenance.
Booster Juice Recreation Centre in Terwillegar Aquatic Centre
The Aquatic Centre will be closed for planned maintenance from August 25-November 14, 2025. During this closure, a number of required repairs and replacements will be done to ensure operational efficiencies. The Club changerooms are open and the infrared sauna will remain open.
Grand Trunk Fitness and Leisure Centre
Grand Trunk Fitness and Leisure Centre will be closed from November 3, 2025 to January 9, 2026 for planned maintenance. The arena will remain open. The facility is scheduled to re-open on Saturday, January 10, 2026.
Mill Woods Recreation Centre Aquatic Centre
The Aquatic Centre and aquatic change rooms at Mill Woods Recreation Centre will be closed from November 17, 2025 to January 16, 2026. The rest of the facility will remain open.

Planned Work
- Maintenance to mechanical, electrical and structural components, including draining pools and deep cleaning basins, grout and tile repairs
- Overhead light replacements/ upgrades
- Painting
- Air handling and vent cleaning
Inspection and servicing of mechanical systems may also occur, such as anti entrapment drains, filtration, disinfection, and circulation pumps and sauna elements, as well as filter and surge tank cleaning, coatings and filter media replacement.
Peter Hemingway Aquatic Centre
Closed for rehabilitation and anticipated to reopen in 2026.
Peter Hemingway Aquatic Centre has been operating since 1971 and was identified as a priority for rehabilitation work to upgrade its 50-year-old mechanical, structural and electrical systems, building exterior, and roof. This work is important to ensure the facility can continue to provide aquatic and fitness experiences to Edmontonians for decades to come.
