The concept plan for the 103 Avenue Streetscape is ready for review.
During public and stakeholder engagement, the City learned there are 4 key items important to those who live, work, and travel on 103 Avenue:
Improving the streetscape along 103 Avenue through landscaping, amenities, and areas to linger will create a green and walkable street and create a more attractive and desirable place for people of all ages and abilities.
The street is dark, particularly in the winter months. There was a desire for increased lighting to improve safety.
103 Avenue acts as a wind tunnel that discourages people from enjoying the street. While it is not possible to eliminate the wind, there may be features that can lessen its impact.
Although the street will be open to traffic, there is a need to emphasize the pedestrian experience through wider sidewalks, narrower travel lanes, reduced on street parking, increased landscaping and more seating areas.
