The Edmonton Cemetery is a true heritage location. It is home to some of the city’s most remarkable architectural and vintage monuments. Many of Edmonton’s original settlers and founders rest at this historic cemetery. Some of their names are now on schools, streets and neighbourhoods across the city, in honour of their contributions.

One of the cemetery’s most distinguished features is the Military Field of Honour. It was established in 1922. Many solemn rows of markers honour all veterans with equal reverence. Additionally, the cemetery is home to a beautiful historic mausoleum completed in 1930. It is the final resting place of Emily Murphy who was a proud member of the Famous Five and a significant figure in Canadian history.
