The Revitalization Project Macro-Grant, previously known as the Revitalization Matching Fund, is available to support new opportunities and activities in Revitalization Areas that align with the goals of neighbourhood revitalization for each eligible community involved with the City of Edmonton Neighbourhood Revitalization Initiative. Revitalization macro-project grants provide residents, businesses owners and operators, non-profit organizations $501-$20,000 in funding.
Projects must be based in and/or benefit the communities currently involved with one of the following City of Edmonton Neighbourhood Revitalization initiatives:

Note: any association or organization applying must have been formally registered within the Province of Alberta for at least a year and should be able to provide at least 1 year's worth of financial statements that follow generally accepted accounting principles if required

The City of Edmonton will review and approve applications as quickly as possible. Groups are encouraged to apply 8 weeks in advance of their planned project, initiative or event. Incorrect financial or organization contact information can result in a delay or inability to process your grant request. Your organization can avoid delays by:

Note: Multi-year projects or recurring annual events events will only be considered on a sliding scale of 100/75/50/25% if they can demonstrate growth and meet the criteria outlined on the Funding Conditions and Reporting Requirements. The funding amount is between $501 to $20,000 and is dependent on project scope and criteria.
Applicants can apply for only one City of Edmonton grant for a particular element of their project or initiative.
The City of Edmonton assesses the Revitalization Project-Macro Grant applications on the following criteria. All applicants will be contacted with a grant decision. *Note individual applicants or groups who are not a registered organization must partner with a fiscal agent.
Note: Meeting assessment requirements does not guarantee funding. Applicants may receive full, partial or no funding for their projects.
The following conditions apply to all Revitalization Project Macro-Grants:
Recipients of Program funds are to acknowledge the City of Edmonton wherever possible and appropriate. The City of Edmonton visual identity standards are available upon request and recognition of funding can be achieved in a variety of ways:
The funds received shall not be used for a purpose beyond the objectives outlined by this grant. The Applicant must demonstrate fiscal responsibility and manage its finances.
Should an applicant make false representations or otherwise fail to meet any of the requirements of the grant to the City’s satisfaction, they may be subject to fund repayment. The applicant may also be ineligible for future funding or other procurement with the City of Edmonton until the outstanding dispute has been resolved.
All Revitalization Project Macro-Grant recipients must submit a Final Report within 60 days of the completion of the Project. Your Final Report will state how the funds were used. Fund recipients must demonstrate how the initiative met one or more of the Neighbourhood Services Funding Program Outcomes and one or more of the Revitalization Strategies for your particular neighbourhood.
Note: Fund recipient eligibility for future funding through the City of Edmonton is dependent on a complete Final Report verified as received by the Grants Office.
Revitalization Project Macro Grant Report

Note: If you do not have a copy of the Financial Report (budget) submitted with your application, please call the Grants Office for assistance at 780-496-4933. Otherwise, you can create a new Revitalization Expense Sheet with the actual expense portion completed. No matching component is required for the Revitalization Project Macro Grant.
Appeals must be received within one month of notification of denial of award. A letter outlining the rationale for appeal must accompany the appeal. Grant appeals shall be submitted to the Director responsible for Neighbourhood Revitalization. A meeting will be held with the applicant and a decision made by the Director responsible for Neighbourhood Revitalization within 30 days.
