Street Sparks is a special summer event series celebrating new and different ways to get around the city. These welcoming, community events, will inspire you to explore the benefits of using electric bikes and scooters to get around our city.

Get ready to roll, Edmonton!

Street Sparks is designed for everyone, from curious kids to eco-conscious adults. Participants will experience the many benefits of choosing e-rides (like electric bikes and shared e-bikes and e-scooters) first-hand, while learning from some of Edmonton’s most trusted micromobility experts.

At Street Sparks, you'll discover how making small changes can have a big impact on affordability, quality of life and the environment.

Please register via Eventbrite to reserve your spot for mini-workshops, test rides, and shared pathway tours. All activities are free, but space is limited. Registration closes 1 week prior to each event.

There is no registration needed for the block party and exhibitors, you can just show up and enjoy!

 Test Ride E-Bikes and E-Scooters

Get experience riding shared e-scooters and e-bikes from one of Edmonton's providers with provincial exception permits in a safe and supervised enclosed area.

 Join a Guided Shared Pathway Tour

Take a scenic ride on shared e-bikes with our local guides and explore Edmonton's awesome pathways and bike lanes. 

 Learn at our Workshops

Featuring a diverse array of topics, from how to stay safe, repair and maintain your e-ride, to how to plan the best route to work or school, you will learn the basics from some of Edmonton’s most popular cycling pros.

Ride Smart: Street Safety & Secure Parking 

Learn how to ride confidently and securely in city traffic and best practices for locking up your ride to prevent theft.

Chat with experienced cyclists to learn from their many years riding about how they plan their route, what to wear and what keeps them rolling in Edmonton (especially in winter).

Listen to live music, grab a bite from a food truck and let the little ones burn off some energy in the Kid Zone with fun activities and play features that will keep them entertained.

Visit the exhibitor showcase, where you can chat with local vendors and organizations on micromobility-related topics.

Street Sparks is inviting local businesses, nonprofits, public services, and community groups to bring the spark! Join us at one or both events with an engaging activation—think educational booths or hands-on activities—that connect to electric micromobility. Ready to roll with us? Feel the Benefits of E-Rides

The Street Sparks events aim to educate attendees on the environmental, financial and personal benefits of using electric micromobility options such as e-bikes and shared e-scooters. The events will also highlight the benefits of sharing services to increase the accessibility of micromobility options.

Change Mobility for Climate

With transportation accounting for 42% of energy used in Edmonton, rethinking mobility choices can help to create healthy, vibrant and livable communities. To this end, Change Mobility for Climate has programs to promote the shift from driving alone to getting around by active transportation – walking, biking and taking public transit.
