There are several ways for eligible voters to vote in the 2025 Edmonton Election, including advance vote, special ballot and on election day.
Missed the August 15 Online Registration Deadline?
You can still register or update your information at your assigned voting station during advance voting (October 7-11) or Election Day (October 20), or through a special ballot.
Special Ballots
Eligible voters can apply to vote by special ballot if they are unable to vote during advance voting or on Election Day.
You are eligible to vote in the 2025 Edmonton Election if you are:
- 18 years or older
- A Canadian citizen
- Live in Edmonton on Election Day (October 20, 2025) and have that location as your listed place of residence
Accepted Identification (ID) at the Voting Station
All voters must show ID at the voting station in order to vote.
Valid IDs include:
- Alberta Driver's Licence
- Alberta Identification Card
Refer to Edmonton Elections list of Accepted ID to make sure that you have the correct identification. Only original documentation can be presented.
Attestation Forms
If you are unable to provide an accepted form of ID, an authorized individual may complete an attestation form to confirm your identity and place of residence.
To use an attestation form as identification:
- Print the appropriate form from the following:
- Complete section 1 of the form, which includes name, address and signature fields
- Ask an authorized individual to complete section 2 of the form.
- Bring the completed form to the voting station and present it to the election worker
An attestation form should be completed before visiting your assigned voting station, unless the person providing the attestation is coming with you.
