Note: In partnership with the City of Edmonton, the Edmonton Speed Skating Association has exclusive use of the skating oval on: Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-7pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-9pm. 

The ice will be closed to public use during these times.

Be Safe on Ice

City-operated ice surfaces in the river valley parks, district parks and at City Hall are maintained and monitored daily.

  • Ice surfaces will be closed if conditions are unsafe for users
  • Please keep off closed ice surfaces and obey all posted signage
  • Your safety is our concern but your responsibility is to use ice surfaces at your own risk and be safe
    • Sticks, balls and pucks are not permitted outside of designated scheduled times in shinny and hockey-specific areas
    • Pets are not permitted on ice surfaces
