- Please allow 10 working days upon submission of a complete application for a permit to be processed
- The use of fireworks without a permit is in violation of the City of Edmonton bylaws and may result in fines or prosecution
- The person to whom a fireworks permit is issued shall comply with all conditions outlined on the permit. A copy of the permit must be on-site during use and presented to officials upon request.
Fireworks can be extremely dangerous and disruptive to individuals, property and the environment if not used or handled correctly. Under the City of Edmonton’s Public Places Bylaw 14614 and Community Standards Bylaw 14600 , any use of fireworks without proper permitting is illegal and subject to enforcement which can include fines of up to $10,000.
Criminal charges can also be laid depending on the circumstances which can result in a criminal record, fines, and the possibility of jail time.
