The Community League Infrastructure Program (CLIP) provides funding assistance to community leagues for capital costs to preserve and enhance existing facilities that provide an overall benefit to the community and value to the citizens of Edmonton.
For 2024, the CLIP budget available for distribution is $1,931,000.
This is a matching grant program that will provide up to 50% of the total eligible project costs. Funding of eligible projects is not guaranteed due to limited funding.
The CLIP grant priorities in 2024 will be focused on rehabilitation and renovation projects that do 1 or more of the following:
Grant deadline
Review and assess applications
Community Leagues told whether their grant request will receive funding
Funding agreements signed (for Completed Project Grants, funding agreements are not required and payment would be processed
Payments processed
Insurance Deductible Grant Applications will be accepted throughout the year and will be processed as they are received
The Community League Infrastructure Program has 4 funding streams:
The Project Planning stream will assist community leagues with costs associated with planning medium and/or large projects as well as the completion of concept studies to assist community leagues in determining the scope and scale of future projects.
Up to 50% of the eligible planning costs to a maximum of $25,000
Applicants must meet all the terms and conditions as set out in Policy C502A including:
Community Leagues which are undertaking an infrastructure project that will not be
complete by the grant submission date can apply for a Standard Project stream.
The size of grant awarded will determine when a league will be eligible for another grant in that size category.
A community league may request a grant for less than the maximum for which it is eligible based on eligible project costs.
Applications for projects with total eligible project costs less than $5,000 will not be considered.
Applicants must meet all the terms and conditions as set out in Policy C502A including:
Community Leagues that have completed their projects prior to the grant submission date can submit their Final Project Report along with their application. This does not guarantee grant approval but will expedite the funding disbursement.
The size of grant awarded will determine when a league will be eligible for another grant in that size category.
A community league may request a grant for less than the maximum for which it is eligible based on eligible project costs.
Applications for projects with total eligible project costs less than $5,000 will not be considered.
Applicants must meet all the terms and conditions as set out in Policy C502A including:
Community Leagues that have to make an insurance claim in 2024 can apply for funding assistance to cover the insurance deductible.
Leagues must pay $5,000 of the deductible with the balance eligible for funding under CLIP to a maximum of $20,000.
