Elementary School Programs

Capacity: up to 25 participants unless otherwise specified and dependent on space availability.
Duration: 1 hour, unless otherwise specified.

Mini Movers (Kindergarten)

Program Fee: $96/hr

Welcome to the world of movement! In this creative program, preschoolers will have fun navigating the world of obstacles and dance. Through imaginative play and self-discovery, children will enhance their physical and social skills while increasing their self-confidence.

Yoga Adventures (Kindergarten–Grade 6)

Program Fee: $134/hr

Jump on board for a yoga adventure with us! Students bark in downward dog, hiss in cobra pose and flutter their wings in butterfly. Balance on a surfboard and stretch up tall like a tree. This fun class will open new doors to health and relaxation!

Zumba Kids (Kindergarten - Grade 6)

Program Fee: $134/hr
Capacity: 25-40 participants depending on space availability

Designed exclusively for elementary students, Zumba Kids classes are rockin’ high-energy fitness parties packed with specially choreographed, kid-friendly routines and all the music kids love!

Kung Fu Pandas (Grades 1–4)

Program Fee: $96/hr

Students learn basic kickboxing techniques and self-defense skills. This fitness-focused program is designed to foster development through physical activity in a fun, non-competitive environment.

Obstacle Fit Kids (Grades 1-6)

Program Fee: $126/hr (5-20 participants), $226/hr (21-40 participants)
Locations: Kinsmen, Terwillegar and The Meadows

Experience fitness in a fun and safe way. Students will learn body awareness, balance, and basic strength training through obstacles, relay activities, and circuits.

Junior High and High School Programs

Capacity: up to 25 participants unless otherwise specified and dependent on space availability.
Duration: 1 hour, unless otherwise specified.

Fitness Fundamentals (Grade 7-12)

Program fee: $425  (up to 12 participants)
Duration: 6 Week program

This six week course is designed to teach you how to train your core, upper body and lower body using both free weights and resistance training machines. Additionally, you will learn warm up and stretching techniques to improve your rest and recovery between workouts. Finally, you will leave this course with the confident with enough fitness knowledge so you can design your own program.

Learn to Play (Grades 7-12)

Program Fee: $96
Capacity: dependent upon sport and location

This program will lead kids through a high energy and action-packed session with the goal of encouraging participation, confidence, and fun! Participants will be taught the skills, rules and strategies of the sport they choose by a certified sport-specific instructor. Come out and learn in a fun and friendly environment. Equipment is provided by the City of Edmonton.

Women on Weights (Grade 7-12)

Program fee: $425 (up to 12 participants)    
Duration: 6 Week program

Designed to demonstrate the basic weight training principles and techniques as well as provides you with the practical and theoretical know-how to set up your own weight training program.

Youth in Action (Grades 7–12)

Program Fee: $149/hour (per 1 instructor and 12 participants)
Duration: 2 hours

Students are educated on safe fitness centre practices including proper etiquette and equipment use. The program introduces youth to the basics of fitness and weight training, including principles of both cardiovascular and resistance training. All youth between the ages of 12 and 15 must complete this program before being admitted to a City of Edmonton Fitness Centre.

Cancellation and Rescheduling

Written notice of cancellation must be submitted via email to cmsschoolbookings@edmonton.ca. Programs cancelled with 30 days notice or more will not be charged the program fee or a cancellation fee. Programs cancelled with 8-29 days notice are subject to be charged 50% of the program fee, unless the cancellation is filled by a waitlisted group. For programs cancelled within 7 days notice or less, the full program fee will be charged.

In the event that a class arrives late, the school will still be charged the full fee and the program will end at the originally scheduled time.
