Daily tracking of pest management spraying activities in the city helps to manage a variety of pest types.
The City of Edmonton utilizes its Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies to focus on minimizing the use of pesticides while ensuring the maximum effectiveness of pest management programs. Some pesticide usage, though, will be required to ensure maximum effectiveness.
All pest control products and procedures the City of Edmonton uses meet strict standards established by Health Canada through the Pest Control Products Act. The City of Edmonton’s pesticide applicators are trained to the required standards of Alberta Environment and Parks.
