Profile for City of Edmonton Ipiihkoohkanipiaohtsi Ward Councillor.

Jon Morgan is a dedicated public servant, longtime Edmontonian, former small business owner and Queen’s Jubilee Award winner for Community Service. He lives in the community of Rutherford with his two sons and his wife, Amanda.

Jon attended MacEwan in Edmonton, completing the Arts and Cultural Management program and is certified in Supervisory Development. With 18 years of experience at Edmonton Transit, Jon understands the importance of reliable public services, the everyday realities faced by working families and the need to support local businesses.

Over the past decade, Jon served as president of the Heritage Point Community League, led the Johnny Bright School Council as secretary and volunteered as a youth soccer coach. Whether organizing rink programs, leading neighbourhood cleanups or mentoring young athletes, Jon has consistently shown up for Ward Ipiihkoohkanipiaohtsi.

His commitment to community building doesn’t stop at the neighbourhood level. Jon has also been a regular volunteer with Water Warriors YEG, helping deliver food and supplies to Edmonton’s most vulnerable. He served four years on the board of the Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues, including two as External Vice President, where he championed inclusive partnerships and strong support for local leagues.

All of these experiences shape Jon’s belief in creating a city that works for everyone — one where public services stay public, families can afford to live and grow, and no one is left behind. For Jon, a stronger Edmonton starts with building resilient neighbourhoods, a stable economy and ensuring local voices are heard.
