A lifelong Edmontonian, Councillor Aaron Paquette understands the importance of building strong communities and making sure that Northeast Edmonton isn’t left behind as our city grows.
He's proud of his Cree and Métis heritage, and also traces his family back to Scotland and Norway, reflecting the rich diversity that makes our city strong.
Before dedicating himself to public service, Aaron built a remarkable career defined by leadership and tangible results. He was the CEO of his own consulting and production companies, a bestselling and award-winning author, a sought-after public speaker and a celebrated visual artist. His impactful work, from vibrant murals to intricate stained glass, can be seen not only in collections across Canada and around the world, but also right here in Edmonton at landmarks like the Royal Alberta Museum, University Hospital and the Government Centre LRT Station. In his career, he has collaborated with major Canadian organizations and shared stages with world leaders and CEOs.
His eight-year track record on City Council has transformed the Northeast. What once felt like a forgotten part of the city is now a thriving community of communities, benefiting from increased amenities, new opportunities, local employment, strategic development, smart investment and renewed vibrancy. From strengthening local industry and ensuring sensible budgeting, to welcoming new investment and creating new parks for the people, good things are happening here.
