The Neighbourhood Empowerment Team (NET) is a partnership between the City of Edmonton, the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) and The Family Centre.
Our team includes Community Safety Liaisons (CSLs) and Youth Community Safety Liaisons (YCSLs). They partner with various Edmonton Police Service units and work alongside other enforcement agencies.
What We Do
We respond to repeated or significant incidents that may impact the security and safety of people across the city. Our aim is to reduce crime, victimization and social disorder in Edmonton.
How We Work
We work with community partners, businesses, residents, police and communities to create strategies and safety projects that contribute to safer and more vibrant neighbourhoods and communities.
We use data, research and community knowledge to:
- Develop strategies that reduce crime and disorder in neighbourhoods, businesses areas and public spaces
- Use Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles to make public spaces safer and more welcoming
- Provide valuable information, resources and connections that enhance safety
Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) Self Assessment
This questionnaire explains CPTED and asks questions to check how safe a property is. After completing it, respondents get tips on how to make their home, apartment, or business safer. The assessment is for people living in houses or apartments, as well as for businesses, work places and industrial areas
