We offer Edmontonians a year-round insect identification service.
You can send specimens through the mail. To prevent damage, specimens mailed to us should be wrapped in a protective material, such as tissue paper, and sealed in a rigid container, like a clean plastic pill bottle, before being placed in the envelope. Include a brief explanatory note with your name and contact information.

Specimens should be sealed inside a see-through hard container (pill vial, jar or similar), and labelled with your name and contact information.
You can drop off specimens directly at 12304 107 Street NW during office hours. There is a self serve drop off box labeled for insect specimens inside the main entrance. You will need to buzz Forestry/Pest reception for entry into the facility.
We aim to identify most specimens within three business days.
