Enjoy the first 15 minutes for free in all on-street EPark zones! Limit to one zone per day during operating hours. This is automatically applied at the start of a parking session. It does not apply to City-owned parkades and surface lots.

Two-hour Parking Time Limit

The 2-hour parking limit is in effect Monday to Friday between 8am and 4pm.

Customers can extend their parking beyond two hours on weekdays from 4pm to 9pm, Saturdays from 8am to 9pm, and Sundays from 10am to 5pm.

Pay for EPark parking with the HotSpot Mobile App

If you haven’t parked using an app before, we made it easy and convenient for your first time. The new app for EPark, powered by HotSpot Parking, comes with features many customers have asked for in their parking app, including a pay-as-you-go format.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to download the HotSpot app to use EPark?

No. Use of the app is encouraged for convenience, but is not mandatory. You can pay for EPark using the existing EPark machines through HotSpot’s FastTap, or pay online. With FastTap, customers can scan the QR code posted on a decal on the front of on EPark machines to link up to a mobile pay site without needing an account.

Does the HotSpot app charge service fees or require a subscription?

No. All costs will be covered by current EPark rates and customers will not see additional charges or fees.

How do I find parking space or check for rates on the HotSpot app?

The Hotspot Parking app has a map that connects to your current location. Make sure to implement the following steps:

Turn on your phone’s location services.
On the Hotspot Parking app, go to App Settings and then go to Permissions Settings to ensure that the Geolocation is enabled.
Once these settings are enabled, go to Parking and then go to Find Available Parking, which will open the CurbIQ map.
Click on the location icon (located above the zoom-in icon). This will display your location and the nearby EPark zones on the map to make it easier to find your EPark zone number. The rates for the zone will also be posted.

Can I extend my parking session on the HotSpot app?

Yes, parking can be extended using the app to the maximum time limit available (for example, up to 2 hours in a 2-hour parking zone). Parking can not be extended beyond the maximum limit for a curbside EPark zone. This limit is a built-in function in the app and is to ensure there is always turnover for curbside parking space, especially in high-demand parking areas. There is no maximum time limit restriction when parking at the Stanley A. Milner Library and Canada Place parkades.

How do I request a refund from HotSpot Parking?

Any unused time from a parking session is non-refundable. In the case of a technical error such as a duplicate payment while using the Hotspot App, FastTap, or the Online Payment Portal, please contact HotSpot Parking customer support.

I notice EPark zones or the map are not coming up when I try to start a parking session. What should I do?

It is likely the app is set to a different city. HotSpot Parking operates in several communities across Canada.

Make sure Edmonton is listed under My City in your account info in the app. If another community is listed, tap “update account details” to change your location to Edmonton.

Please know that each city selection is tailored to the particular parking service available in that municipality. Some of the app’s features will be available in one community and not another. To use EPark, always make sure your Edmonton is selected as your service location.
