Green Shack Programs

Get active and join us for games, sports, crafts, music, drama and special events this summer. The Green Shack program is a free drop-in program catered to children ages 6 to 12; however, all are welcome.

The Green Shack Program has ended for 2024. Thank you to all the kids and families who visited a shack this summer. We look forward to seeing you in 2025.

Every summer, program leaders host games, challenges and activities that are sure to get kids active and having fun! A list of activities and special events will be posted on the side of the Green Shack each week.

Green Shack locations operate half-days and can be open in the morning from 10:30am to 1:30pm or afternoon from 2:30 to 5:30pm; full-day hours are available at some sites. Check the map for hours and the current status. Programming is available rain or shine but may be cancelled during severe weather.

Program Leaders

Program leaders are easily identified by their blue shirts and may be assisted by volunteer leaders in training. All leaders:

Have completed a security clearance process, are trained in first aid, and are certified specialists in fun!
Ensure participants play safely (Parents are responsible for their children at all times and must be available in the event of an emergency)

If there is a game or activity that piques your child's interest that you would like to have included in the programming, ask the program leader.

Note: Children under 6 years of age can still participate if they have a parent or guardian with them.
