Don’t have a food scraps cart? Bring your household scraps to any Eco Station. You’ll put them in our on-site food scraps cart. They can be loose or bagged in paper or plastic.
If your city-provided food scraps pail is damaged from normal household use, we’ll exchange it for a replacement under the manufacturer warranty program. Your pail must be clean and include all parts: body, lid and handle.
Compost is not available in the winter. It will be available at Kennedale and Ambleside Eco Station in the spring.
During the winter, residents can collect up to 100L of sand for free at Ambleside, Coronation and Kennedale Eco Stations. Residents are responsible for bringing their own containers, gloves, shovels and tarps.
Sand delivery will begin after November 7th.
The paint exchange is back! Drop off and pick up usable paint, free of charge. Please let staff know if your paint is for the exchange so they can put it in the correct area. Quality is not guaranteed; pick-up limit of 4 cans per visit.
Each Eco Station has a recycling depot onsite for cardboard, paper, plastic containers and other household recyclables.
Can’t make it to the Reuse Centre? Drop off your donations at an Eco Station. Please double-check the Reuse Centre’s accepted items list to ensure your donations are accepted.
Eco Stations now accept large pieces of Styrofoam for recycling! This includes Styrofoam blocks, packaging and coolers. Please continue to put small Styrofoam items, like take-out containers and cups, in your garbage.
Your pharmacy is the best place to drop off needles and syringes, but Eco Stations will also take them. Please ensure they’re in a sharps container with the needle tips pointing down. This keeps staff safe.
